I have been having so much fun playing with two different paper collections, so I thought I would share these with you.
I used 3 different pages from this collection.
The base is 'Sentimental Baby' that I ran through
'The Bug' using the Swiss Dot EF. I love this page because it has the verses to 'Rock a Bye Baby'
The next layer is 'Unforgettable'. This page has a variety of squares that can be used together or can be cut apart. I used 6 squares together.
I distressed the edges of two layers and embellished with satin pearls, trim and platinum Stickles.
Now for something completely different.....
I love the texture of all the collections from this company. These papers are no exception. The linen finishes and embossed glittered roses are so beautiful!
I die cut the scalloped hearts from Spellbinders and layered them using dimensional tape. I added Prima flowers and centered one with an 'Artsy Urban' crochet flower.
The sweet angels were taken from 'The Book of Friendship'. I love these chunky books that can usually be found in the Bargain Book section of Barnes & Noble. They make great clip art!
Of course,
I couldn't finish without some vintage lace, vibrant rhinestones and icicle Stickles.

So there you have it....two VERY DIFFERENT creations.
Before I go, I wanted to say thank you TO YOU! I have loved getting to know so many of you through your visits to
The Open Window.
I think 2010 will contain some very exciting months as we continue to communicate and share through this fabulous place. My plans for New Year's Day is to play and create...I am making a deal with myself to use what I have. Now, that doesn't mean that I won't be out there buying up the latest papers and stamps...that would be ridiculous! No...my intentions are to try and use at least one thing I already have on hand in each of my projects and then share that with you. So what do I have the MOST of that I need to use? Paper...paper...PAPER! Of course, many of us have things that we just don't want to part with...and I will hang on to those (and maybe share those along the way as well). But I do need to start using more of my papers no matter how old they are.
So here is what I want to know from you? What do you have the most of that you would be willing to try and use more of in the coming year's creativity? I am sure we would ALL LOVE TO KNOW...so please leave me a comment....
Let's have fun with this!

Beautiful card,love the papers!Hugs,Moni
i'm trying in 2010 to use the bazillion scraps of paper, that i have them everywhere!
love your cards--that baby card is precious!
Does that mean your ribbons remain as a 'collection' and you don't have to use them? ;)
I'm going to try and trust my own creativity and not feel that I have to check I'm doing things 'right' before I do them. Hope that makes sense!
Two gorgeous valentines there I have to say!!
Love the baby card - it's so soft and sweet - yet it has the vintage feel . . . it's just amazing!
I have so much of everything I would put myself in the looney bin trying to decide. Meantime, let me tell you how wonderful your cards are... The baby card is so sweet...

These cards are real beauties for sure. I love any kind of paper, my daughter in law is saving some paper that has a vintage look to it. (They use it to 'divide' sections, so they don't print on it!) She teaches kindergarten and is always using paper for printing. The stack is already 2 inches thick! Your creations are very pretty and I will check out your supplier.

Gorgeous cards Julie! I'm with you on using up all the papers I accumulate (okay, hoard). I was just sorting and cleaning the other day and was forced to admit that I probably have enough paper to make cards for the rest of my life without buying another piece of it. I'm still going to buy more though. LOL. I hope you had a great Christmas and that you didn't get too much snow!
Beautiful cards - so soft & pretty. We sound a lot alike! I have gads & gads of PAPER!! I need to use more of what I have. Good plan. 8)
Wow! Where to begin. I think I have so much, I need to use it all and stop buying new for a while. Paper, embellies, stamps, ribbons, everything. Its all taking over my space and I've no where to put anything new. Now, which one of the kids doesn't need a bedroom anymore? LOL! Just kidding!
Smiles!
Gwen
I love these
Thank you for your visit on my blog ! I have The Play Date Cafe in my blogroll now so I can see when there is a new challenge.
I like your creations and your blogs !!!
Greetings from the Netherlands, Caroline
I love your baby card! I have some of that paper to but I can't bring myself to cut it! Too pretty!
I too have been collecting paper for years now that I know I will never get to. My problem is that I can't have just one sheet. I have to have several of each design. But with working in a Scrapbook store I know that I will just keep bringing more and more home! It's so tempting, especially when it's the last sheet. I always need it then! Hee hee!
Happy New Year!
Lindsey
All of these cards are gorgeous! You really showcase that beautiful paper! The pearl accents on the baby card & the rhinestones on the Valentine's card are so pretty! I am lovin' your new blog wallpaper & header!
Hi Sweetie! I love your new look and that banner is to die for!!! Like always Julie, your creations are gorgeous, each so different, but so beautiful!...I have tons of stuff, beads, threads, felt...maybe I should start using more of them and buying less, too! Wishes for lots fun and happiness in 2010! xoxo Paulette ;)
I love the baby card. I went way over budget last year with crafting supplies, and I also need to use what I have. I want to use my untouched Tim Holtz supplies as well as break open my Basic Grey packs from the last three years.
