Make a Wish

I'm so glad to have you back here at The Open Window.
It's time for another fabby color challenge over at

Today is a very special day . . .
It's my daughter's 29th birthday.

I can't believe so many years have passed.
She is so beautiful, both inside & out.

Choosing the sentiment for this card was a simple choice!

Because I've been personally busy for the past few weeks, I didn't
devote nearly the time to getting my card done this week as I
would have liked.  I tried photos both indoors & out, but still struggled
to find the right lighting.

Very clean & simple, I used the 'Dandelion Wishes' stamps
and dies from My Favorite Things.
It's very special to know that my long time blogging friend
Mona Pendleton is the illustrator of these beautiful images.

I love the intricate detail of these stamps.

Many thanks to Mona for providing not only the stamps/dies
for this week, but also the most generous prize for our challenge !

You'll find all the details over in The Cafe.

I hope you will play along with us this week!

Fun's a Poppin' with The Twinery & Ruby Rock-It

Oh yeah!  What a couple days as the designers of The Twinery
get together with the designers of Ruby Rock-It
for a fun blog hop !

I am just the third stop on today's journey, so hopefully
you came by way of the

If not, we would love for you to start at the beginning of the
hop because there are some pretty terrific prize packages
up for grabs when you leave a little love along the way !

Armed with The Twinery's amazing baker's twine
and the super fun 'Carnival King' collection provided
by Ruby Rock-It, I had a great time making this colorful card.

I love ANYthing carnival, circus or county fair-related.
As soon as I saw the popcorn box embellishments, I knew I
wanted to 'pop' some popcorn.
I used The Twinery's original & new solid Marigold baker's twine
& began making little knots.
I 'tied' the banners together with a braided 'rope' using solid Maraschino
and original Caribbean & Charcoal twine
and added a little more shimmer using Stickles & tiny gems from K&Co.

Both The Twinery & Ruby Rock-It
are offering awesome prize packages for two lucky
winners who leave comments along the blog hop way.

All the details & the complete hop list can be
found over at The Twinery.

It is time to get you on your way to Ruby Rock-It's designer

Thanks for stopping by & don't forget to leave a comment
for your chance to win one of those terrific prize packages !

If not, I hope you'll start there & visit all the
designer's blogs.  There is a prize up for grabs!

Here is what I have to share with you !

The journal card I chose as a frame for this card was absolutely perfect.
All I did was stamp my image and color it in.
This set is called 'Sweet Taste of Summer'.

It's really great when a scene is nearly all set for you !
Those who know me, know I am not a colorer, but this was
simply fun to do.  I added Stickles to the flower centers
as well as on her dress & hat.
Notice her hair is brunette . . . I would love to be her on the blanket !

Of course for me, no outdoor scene is complete without
a few little clouds, which I created with my dies from Lil' Inker Designs.

I also love how dimensional the banner appears.
It was simply a part of the journal card I used.
It's from Recollections.

It's time to send you on your way to the next
blog on the hop which is
