A Baby is....

Another very quick, but colorful post for today!

I always like to play with 'unusual'
color combos for baby cards.  I get tired of
the same pink and blue pastel themes
(although I still think they are beautiful).

Thought it might be fun to enter this over at
(I don't currently own any Verve : (  but they
are on my wish list for sure!)

So when I want to go bright and bold, I go straight to
Cosmo Cricket!  These papers are from the 'DeLovely'
collection and are really fun.

The sentiment on the die cut tag is from Verses Rubber Stamps,
but it doesn't stop there....

I inked the first portion of the stamp for the front
of the card and finished off the verse for the
inside greeting.
I love when you can do that with sentiments and
Verses stamps offer a wide variety of ways to
do just that.

Through this Sunday, you can get
20% off your entire order
over at Verses!
Just use the coupon code:
SNOW20
in the comment section of your order.

Well....it's time to get busy with completing a few
creations with deadlines attached, so I KNOW I
will see you soon!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Versatile Verses with Verses...Huh?

I spy with my little eye a fabby flower from Prima!

I'm coming to you today with just one project

You know me....I still go 'old-school'
and love a good wood-mounted stamp.
Combine that with a stamp line that specializes
in sentiments and verses and well.....

Although the sentiment here is a one-liner,
don't be fooled!

I saved the rest of the verse for the inside
of the card.  Very versatile stamp indeed!

The other images used were from PaperTrey Ink.
I alternated with a variety of VersaMagic inks to
create a depth with my stamping.

I will be back at midnight, EST tonight with a
brand new challenge from The Play Date Cafe.
See you soon!

Simple Little Details...

Whenever I find a verse I like, I try to find a few
ways to use it to make a little selection of cards
for when a need arises.
This is one of those verses.

Simple little details can change the whole look
while keeping the design the same.

This sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps.
Adding your own little embellishments and
borders can make all the difference in the world.
The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Just shaping your edges to add interest is
a simple, but effective idea.
Whenever the verse is larger in it's perspective,
it's good to stay simple.

The additional images used were from:
(in order)

Inkadinkado
Memory Box
October Afternoon
Inkadinkado

Hope seeing these little note cards inspires you to
think simple.  Sometimes it's the most effective.

Singing a Happy Song...

I am in love with these stamps...plain and simple.
You will be seeing many of them used in a bunch
of my projects over the coming days as I have been
playing with them a lot.  So what did I use?

The sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps.
I mentioned a couple days ago that I recently started working
with their design team and I am really happy
with what I have done so far.

The tree trunks and the tiny bird are from one
of my all time favorite companies, Memory Box.

So why else am I singing a happy song?
Look at what arrived in my mailbox today
from my UK bestie, Sarah.....

here's another view....

I love this stamp set...
Sarah bought one for each of us : )

and how cool is it that this extra large sheet of
collage old 'documents' actually mentions
Rockford, Illinois
(which is where I live)

This sweet birdcage votive from one of my
favorite stores, John Lewis.

and finally, something Sarah and I
cannot live without.....

how cute is this little box?!
Not only all these goodies arrived, but stamps from some of
our upcoming sponsors from The Play Date Cafe.
What a fun mailbox day!

Now...don't forget...tomorrow is the
100th Challenge over at EtsyInspired and I am
honored to be a guest designer there for the
entire month of August.

So come play with us!

Making a Wish with Verses Rubber Stamps

I am so happy to have been asked to work
with a fabulous stamp line that
everyone can use...
Verses Rubber Stamps

This wonderful company specializes
in nothing but sentiments and greetings...
you name it!
It's owned by the talented Connie Williams
who you may know as the coordinator for
the 'Stampaway' Convention in Cinncinnati.
I would love for you to check out the online catalog
over at the website here.

This lovely greeting is really versatile.
You can stamp the 'Happy Birthday' portion on the front
of your card and the rest of the verse can go on the inside.

I also stamped PTI's 'Dot Spot' images using VersaMagic
on the wonderful die cut using Spellbinders Labels Four.
Martha Stewart's 'Deco' punch was layered on the
corners and all was highlighted with a little
'bling' using shiny rhinestone embellishments.

I chose to share this birthday greeting with you today
as I think of my mom who will be celebrating her
70th birthday this Saturday.

She listens to the endless stories about my
blog friends with great interest and
here is what I would LoVe to do for her...
If you would, leave a comment with your own
birthday greeting,
I will print them and make a card which includes them all.
I think it would be a lovely surprise,
so will you help me create this greeting?

Lots of love right back to you!
