Pocketful of Sunshine

Good Monday Morning to You!

It's another busy day here at The Open Window with all kinds
of goodness to share.
As always, it's the Monday Blog Hop with my fellow designers at

If you've arrived here from the very creative
then you're right where you're supposed to be!

If not, I invite you to start at the beginning at the
because there is a terrific prize if you stop by each
blog on the hop and leave a little love.
There are only 12 blogs total, so it's very do-able!

I have been enjoying lots of sunshine this winter...I think it's been so
unseasonably bright and I for one, am very thankful.
This card is a reflection of how it's been in my corner of the planet.

I chose to play with the images and sentiments from the
'Pocketful of Sunshine' Stickerz sets.
I embellished just a little by using Stardust Stickles on my sun.

I am sure you recognize those clouds made from dies by Lil' Inker Designs.
I embossed with the large dots EF from Cuttlebug.

Here are the sets I used....

and don't forget...

It's time to get you on your way!
The next stop on the hop is the uber-talented
She always has something fun and fab to share!

Thanks ever so much for swinging by...and don't forget
when you leave a little note, you'll be in the drawing to win!

It's Day Two of the New Release Previews at....

Today we are sneak peeking the new set designed
by Jenny Suchin.

This set is called 'Owl See You in the Spring'

It's been a long time since I spent time creating a card for
St. Patrick's Day.  With a mother-in-law and father-in-law originally
from Northern Ireland, you would think I would have occasion to do so.

I originally created this card with the idea of being able to detach the
'bookmark' but ended up permanently attaching it to the card.
It would be so easy to make this a card with a use-able bookmark
and could have any theme imaginable.

How would you like to win this set before it goes on sale?
All you have to do is
visit each of the TCM designer's blogs and leave a comment.
SO EASY!!!

There are two more releases to preview before the stamps go on sale
so make sure you plan to stop by again tomorrow to see what's next!

Don't forget to leave a comment and I'll see you again soon!

Happy Friday One and All!
Continuing the busy weekend here at The Open Window.

It's time to 'Tie One On' with ....

I love this terrifically textured twill ribbon provided by this week's
sponsor, May Arts.
This design reminds me of my teenage years.  When there were old-fashioned
stationary stores, now called office supply stores.  I mean, I'm talking
mom and pop stores, not the big-box stores we have now.
This specific design would be similar to what you would find on pads of airmail paper.

The stamps are from The Craft's Meow designed by Nina Brackett
appropriately called 'Telegram'.

As I mentioned before, this week's sponsor is

maker of all lovely ribbon!

I hope you will plan to play with us this week over at CAS-ual Fridays.

Happy Bird~Day

I mentioned in my previous post that it was going to be a busy
weekend here at The Open Window and is one of the reasons why.

It's the beginning of New Release Previews for

Over the next four days, each of the designers from TCM
will share with you beautiful and creative ways to get
started with the new releases which will go on sale
during our finale blog hop on Monday, Feb 20th.

Our first preview if a set designed by NinaB Designs
called 'Tweet of You'.

Although this set has a real whimsical look to it, I decided to go a little
more vintage with my colors.  I grabbed one of Nina's frames from her
last release to enclose the birdcage.
I then punched dozens of tiny daisies using a Fiskars punch.

I love the tiny bird, don't you?!

How would you like to win this set before it even goes on sale?

Just make sure you pop by the blogs of each of our designers
{a complete list is on my sidebar and also at the TCM blog}
and leave a comment to win.  There are only 11 blogs in total to visit.
Easy-peasy!

Hope you enjoyed your visit and my fingers are crossed that YOUR
comment may be the winner!

Enjoying the Moment

I am getting ready for a very busy weekend beginning
with this post...lots of challenges, new releases and blog hops
are on the agenda!

So let's kick it off with this week's challenge over at....

It's Color Splash Week and we are pulling out all the stops with
hot pink!

This week, The Twinery provided all of our designers with
'Pink Sorbet' baker's twine
and it was a terrific way to add just the right 'splash'!

I heard from a lot of people when I featured this same flower on a post
earlier in the week...asking if I would please
share a tutorial on how it was created.
So I am going to see what I can do to make that happen.

I love everything about this very Clean and Simple Design.
That's the great thing about the Color Splash....it's black and white
with just a 'splash' of one color...so let's see YOUR hot pink designs!

Many thanks to The Twinery, this week's sponsor.
A few of the designers there are also playing along, so make
sure you stop by The Twinery blog and check out even more creativity
in hot pink.

Check out the HUGE 10K GIVEAWAY GOING ON
AT THE TWINERY!  OVER $600 IN PRIZES
including complete baker's twine collections,
Xyron Creatopia, Momenta, Market Street Stamps & more!!

I look forward to seeing what you create...so make sure you hop on over
to The Play Date Cafe, get inspired by our designers and play along!

Be Mine

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am so happy that Paul has the day off today but he has been extremely
under the weather the past several days, so I think we will be
spending a nice quiet day together and staying in where it's
nice and warm.

I was determined this Valentine's Day to make Paul's card.
He is always so sweet and appreciative of each one that he
receives and I am really happy to be able to give him this one.

I love this paper from Prima and once I knew that I was going to be using
the glittered chipboard pieces from Making Memories, that it would be
the perfect paper to use as my 'wallpaper'.

I have been using the Lacey Circles die from Spellbinders a lot lately
and thought it worked well for this design.

Before I go, I wanted to slip in one more Valentine greeting that I created a couple
weeks ago using one my new dies from Memory Box.

I LOVE this tree die called 'Twiggy Tree'.
It was perfect for these tiny punched hearts, which I did using my
Martha Stewart Heart to Heart border punch.  It's a great way to make a whole
bunch all at once.  The sentiment on both cards is a vintage stamp from
the original PSX company{circa 1999} and is still one of my very favorites.

I hope you have a lovely day celebrating with the one you love.

Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to stop by and I hope
while you're here, you'll say hello.
