It's Day Two of New Release Previews from

Everyone loves a beautiful label set and here is another one
created by Elizabeta Kushner
called 'Lovely Ovals'

Any time I use these colors together, I immediately think of the city I
live in as it has quite a Swedish heritage.  I pulled these colors from my
A Muse Studio ink collection.  When you see this complete set,
you'll see just how easy it is to line up any of the border stamps
so you can alternate colors, if you wish.

Make sure you pop by
and check out the fabulous-ness
from all of the designers.
TCM is giving away a new release set
each day, so make sure you leave a comment
on the blog for a chance to win!

It's been a very busy week here at
The Open Window!

Hero Arts Creative Team as our Guest Designer as well!

Quick Holiday Cards & Tags-Growing in Unity

Are you working on holiday cards yet?
I'm not really, although I have been sharing a few
over the past couple of days.
It's day two of hosting
and I have been enjoying playing with my
newest set of Unity called
'Bright & Merry Winter Wishes'.

I have been trying to create a few things that would
give you ideas on how to make quick 'assembly-line'
type of cards.  Anything I can do to inspire you to
'make' rather than 'buy'!
The snowflake was actually stamped first and then
die cut using a Spellbinders die.  I also used
'Labels One' for my frames.
A little Stickles in garnet highlight a few of the letters
on the sentiment and a rhinestone center for a little more shine!
The satin ribbons are from Anna Griffin.

These really make up so quickly that using the same
design for matching gift tags just makes sense.

I am really enjoying playing with my Unity stamps this
week and now here's a chance for you to
win your own set from Unity.
Make sure you leave a comment on each GIU post
which began yesterday.  Come Friday, I will have a random
drawing from all the comments left on these posts.

So glad you stopped by!

A New Design Team & Another Challenge!

I am very excited to tell you that I have been asked to be a part of another Design Team. This one is 'The Color Dare' Challenge and I am looking forward to it. Riley Fitzgerald is your host of this fabulous fun. So let's get to the particulars, shall we?!As with many color challenge sites, SU colors are being used for the color choices, but you can use whatever you might have on hand. The 'descriptive' names for these are:
Old Olive
Pale Plum
Very Vanilla
Rich Razzleberry

I had a lot of fun with this card. There are a lot of 'collage' effects going on, but it really does come down to simple layering until you know it's enough. Do you remember the Basic Grey paper series I shared last Friday, well, this is more paper from the 'Periphery' set, along with SEI 'Chocolat' and handmade paper from Thailand for the flowers. The die cuts are also from the BG set and the journal tag is Anna Griffin. The greeting is from Cuttlebug and for a special touch, I added crystal Stickles to the flower and the vintage button rim.

I hope you will stop over at the Color Dare site and enter your color challenge piece. In the meantime, here are the newest DT members to be added...
Laura Lin from I Stamp, I Sew
Christi Bryant from Christi's Blog
Lori Padberg from Lori's Purple Giraffes
See the entire team on my sidebar and make sure when you stop by, you tell them who sent ya!

Now....I know there have been two, count 'em 2, back-to-back posts today, but Google Blogger was having photo loading issues this morning and there were many of us who had deadlines, so that is why you haven't had any breathing room between posts.

BUT....we still have Julie Ranae's Wednesday Night Favs to get to. So I will be back later on this evening with those. I have some lovely places to take you, so grab your favorite beverage and head back later on tonight. I look forward to seeing you!

Think Ink Challenge - Are You Up For It?

Hey guys....back with my Artful INKables offering for this week.
It coincides with the Think Ink Tuesday Challenge.
The challenge for this time was to create a bag or box...and as you can see, I chose a sweet little bag using
the 'Fun & Friendly' set from AI.

I used a fabulous gift bag template from Anna Griffin, which is easy- peasy! The patterned paper is from Dena's Closet by FooFaLa. Of course, I had to break out 'The Bug' and the Spellbinders Nestibilities Scalloped Circles, a couple of rhinestones for bling and I found this adorable ribbon at Hobby Lobby...
HALF PRICE, of course!
You still have until midnight, Monday Sept 14th to enter your project. The randomly chosen winner will
receive a rubber stamp grab bag from Artful INKables.
While you're at it, check out AI's BRAND NEW WEBSITE! The links for all your needs are as easy as a click. Make sure you check out the Design Team bios, too!
You'll FINALLY see more than just my peepers!
Back soon with yet another challenge and an announcement!

Color Throwdown Challenge Offering

I am just squeaking this challenge in under the deadline,
but I am glad to do so.
I always enjoy playing The Color Throwdown.
I used a variety of patterned papers on this card including Anna Griffin, Making Memories (from that new Autumn Collection I showed you last weekend) and retired SU. The base cardstock is an artichoke green, but it's hard to tell in the photo.

I know this is a quick post, but my sweet Paul just came in from work and it's dinner time, so need to run. I am looking forward to sharing sneak peeks of the gift tag swap that is going out this later in the week. Make sure you stop by tomorrow.
Happy Labor Day Weekend
