My True North

Hello !

I'm so glad you could swing by The Open Window
because it's 'Splash' time over at

It's one of the favorites in The Cafe
and this time, we're using Emerald Green

Before I get to my project, I want to make sure you head
over to The Cafe this week because we have a brand new

joining us and I know you'll just love her!

I've been working a lot of Clean & Simple lately and seem to
always go that route when it 'splash' time.
I chose to use one of the sets from Avery Elle to make this card.
This is a true testament that you can use products meant for another time,
as this paper is October Afternoon's 'Witch Hazel' collection.
It was the perfect accent for the color story.

This week, we welcome back

as our sponsor.

Thank you oh so much for stopping by.
I always appreciate your visits.  I know how
many creative blogs are out there and mine is a
simple drop in the ocean, so thank you for your support !

Just for You - Guest Designing with Want2Scrap

Hey hey everyone !

Very excited to share a quick announcement today.

I've been asked to be the August Guest Designer over at

and I can't wait to get started !

I won't officially be sharing a post until later in the month,
but the nice folks over there are introducing me today, so
I thought I would share a quick project using some of the
BEE-autiful product they have provided to me.

I love that pearl flourishes continue to be such a wonderful
accent to cards and that's what I chose to spotlight on this one.
Last week, I mentioned that I was kinda getting back to the
'BOO' idea (you can read about that HERE) so I pulled out
some great papers by BasicGrey for my 'wallpaper' background
that I got from StopandScrap.com
{they have THE BEST prices on all the NEW CHA stuff ! ! }

From there it really was a matter of layering all good things
until I was happy with the result.
I haven't played with a 'shabby-chic' look for awhile,
so it was fun to play with all these great textures.

I hope you will visit the Want2Scrap Blog and let them know
you'll be visiting in August.  I sure would love to have your support !

I'll see you later on tonight with a brand new challenge from
Our new designers will be joining us for their first official challenge,
so it's going to be fab !

Is it Snowing Where You Are, Too?

Happy Wednesday to You!

How has this week started out for you?  I know my friends in the UK are experiencing unusual amounts of snowfall and in the U.S. we are in danger of losing a lot of citrus trees in the South.  I heard that over 2/3 of our country would be affected by this new round of snow storms.
Our forecast here in Northern Illinois promises anywhere from 8"-12" of snow between 10pm tonight and lasting until at least 7pm tomorrow.  So here we go again!

I have been out doing a bit of shopping for some crafty things over the past couple of days.  I know, I know...I told you that one of the things I vowed to do in 2010 was to use much of what I already have here in the studio.  I still am.  Each project I make WILL contain something that has been waiting to be used.

For this little card, I pulled out the 'Weathervane' stamp set from October Afternoon and 'Life's Possibilities' from Tim Holtz...that is my something 'old' as I have had these stamps for quite sometime, but had yet to use them!  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket.
Not much to do here but a little layering and a little glittering.  Simple!

There are still a couple of days left before the big giveaway!
GCD Studios is celebrating their brand new collections and they have given us some 'Homespun Chic' JUST FOR YOU!
You do NOT want to miss out on this, so CLICK HERE and make sure you leave your comment at the end of the post!

Back tomorrow to introduce you to a brand new challenge from
The Play Date Cafe!
