A Different Take on a Challenge...JUGS20

Thought I would play along this week over at the
Just Us Girls Challenge.
The technique is 'split negative', but as I am one who does not use
heat embossing all that much, I decided to just put my own spin on it.

My 'split' is one stamp with two colors.
I love these stamps from Hampton Arts & Stampabilities.
Of course, used a little 'Boo' with this really old
Making Memories DP.  I have always loved this floral pattern
so I was glad that it worked with these stamps.

They offer a couple of tutorials on this technique
over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog, so if you are
in the mood to do something unique, head on over.

One more thing....PLEASE leave a comment to say hello
and let me know you stopped by.  I truly do appreciate it!

Happy 20th Anniversary... Tissue Paper Flower Tutorial

Open Design Team Call...

I knew it would happen!
Once I started playing around with these tissue paper flowers,
I would have a 'garden' full!

My mom and stepdad's 20th anniversary is Valentines Day
and they are master gardeners, so I wanted to make something that
reflects their love of flowers.

This card is TOTAL BOO!
The beautiful DP is from GCD 'Rose-Colored Glasses' Collection.
The flowers, believe it or not, were made from
handmade tobacco paper
that I have had in my collection for at least 10 years.
I threw in a little pink crepe and cornflower blue tissue as well.
The stamp sentiment is Inkadinkado.

If you have not seen the fabulous video tutorial by my friend
Mona Pendleton, then here you go....

Have a great day everyone!

Love is in the Air...it's a Private Blend!

This is a fabulous week over at The Play Date Cafe!
Not only do we have an open design team call going on at the moment, but we also have a new
Cafe feature with a designer opportunity.

This week, I was totally inspired by The Play Date Cafe's first
'Private Blend' Designer.

Before I tell you about that inspiration, I want to also thank my friend
Maria has graciously provided this fabulous inspiration photo
for this week's challenge.

Mona Pendleton of Cupcake's Creations is our first
'Private Blend' Designer and her tissue paper flowers are so beautiful.
I decided it was time to make a few of my own
inspired by her terrific style.

I also managed a little 'Boo' with this project by using flocked DP from
Prima's Nursery Rhyme Collection,
and this fabulous Paper Inspirations
stamp that I have had for over five years and had never inked!
The textured hearts were a part of a die cut package that came free with one of my British stamping magazines.

Hope you will take this opportunity to play with these great
Valentine-y colors over at The Play Date Cafe.
Head on over and find out how you can be a
'Private Blend' Designer!

The Roaring Twenties wtih Gingersnap Creations

I'm very happy to again be participating with the fabulous
representing the creative team at The Artistic Stamper,
this month's sponsor.

This week's challenge is a 'supply' challenge using Lace and Fibers.
I went a bit minimal on my fibers and trim as I wanted something that would enhance this fabulous 'Roaring Twenties' image.

All the stamps are from the wonderful, new
Artistic Stamper 'Romance' Collection.
I used Lumiere paint in super copper to stamp
the versatile 'Sequin Waste' background.
The sentiment is from the
'Roses are Red' set
Stickles in platinum, silver and lime were used to accent
the dress, jewelry and shoes.

Please stop by Gingersnap Creations
and see what their design team
have offered for inspiration for this week's challenge.

More Romance with Gingersnap Creations

I'm very happy to be participating with the fabulous
Gingersnap Creations Challenge
representing the creative team at The Artistic Stamper,
this month's sponsor.

The theme for this week's challenge is 'Romance'.
These birds look like they know a thing or two about romance, so they were my inspiration.

I used the fabulous new stamps from
Artistic Stamper's 'Romance' Collection.
The wonderful 'Heart Background' is so versatile.
I also used the 'Roses are Red' set
to stamp the heart shape and the sentiment.
I used Ranger's Crackle Accents for a special effect on the heart.
I also used a variety of Stickles to highlight the clip art which is from Sandra Evertson's 'Wedding' Book.
Prima Flowers add the finishing touches.

Hope you will stop by Gingersnap Creations and see what their design team have offered for inspiration for this week's challenge.

Hope your week is going well.  We are half way through and it's been a busy and creative one for me.  Make sure you stop by tomorrow to see the new challenge from The Play Date Cafe.

Romance is in the Air...

Wanted to share a quick post with you today using a fabulous,
brand new stamp from Artistic Stamper's 'Romance' Collection.
Although this center heart is rather small, this stamp is HUGE!

It's a full size background of fun hearts!
I used VersaMark to create a subtle background and then outlined EVERYTHING
with Stardust Stickles.
A little 'BOO' with the Heidi Grace DP from this past summer.
All the edges were distressed using the Tim Holtz tool.

Found these great tags that are used for tying treat bags
and thought they would be great for an instant greeting.

Not a fan of the photo, but it was the best I could do for a Monday...
I KNOW you know what I'm talking about!
Pretty self-explanatory, this one.
Used my 'Bug' and the Paisley EF for the background
(thank you Mona).
Then a little more embossing with the Swiss Dot EF and
the Scalloped Circles from Spellbinders.
I wish the silver metallic was just a bit 'shinier' in the photo,
but you can see it.

Well...like I said before, it's Monday.  So need to get to 'Monday stuff'.
Hope you will leave a comment to let me know you were here.
It's the only way I can comment back.
I love hearing from YOU!
