Happy Fall Y'all

For The Craft's Meow
New Release Blog Hop
Please Scroll Down

It's another fabulously busy day here at The Open Window
and I am thrilled to be coming to you sharing a wonderful
collaboration between The Twinery and write.click.scrapbook.

I love being the Design Team Coordinator at The Twinery
and working with such a talented design team along with
such beautiful baker's twine are the reasons why.

I recently received a BIG order of seasonal new releases
from StopandScrap.com and couldn't wait to get started creating.

This card features one of the newest colors in baker's twine from
The Twinery.
'Ocean' is quickly becoming a favorite for me !
I hung the banner stickers from the 'Harvest Lane' collection by
Simple Stories
using the twine.  All I did was punch holes on each corner to weave
the twine right through.

I added a little Liquid Pearls to the tree to create a bit of dimension.

I hope you will join us over on The Twinery blog for more
beautiful inspiration and a big thanks to write.click.scrapbook.
for showcasing our baker's twine.

Cuckoo for You!

For The EAD Designs
Blog Hop
Please Scroll Down

YaY ! ! !

After a glitch or two with our stamp manufacturer, we are
finally able to begin
Day # 1 of New Release Previews at

Each day this week, you will get a little peek
at some inspiration from each of our designers
using the brand new images from TCM.
They will be released during our team blog hop
in just a few days' time.

We are also excited to welcome our
September Guest Designer
Suzanne Bier
She is a terrifically created lady and we
know you will love her too !

Our first sneak peek was designed by our friend
Nina Brackett of Nina B Designs
called 'Vintage Clocks'

This cuckoo clock reminds me so much of one that I have stored away
safely (as I await getting it repaired).  It was a gift to my grandparents
from my dad when he was stationed in the Navy in the 1950's.

I absolutely love what Nina designed with this entire set, but the clock
definitely got my attention.  The design of my card is fairly straightforward.
I loved adding the touches of Liquid Pearls, especially on the hanging
pinecones.  It gives the same dimension and feel of the real ones
on my clock. The layers of vintage-style paper are from Simple Stories.

Make sure you pop by
and check out the fabulous-ness
from all of the designers.
TCM is giving away a new release set
each day and today, you have a chance to win
this terrific set!
Make sure you leave a comment
on the blog for a chance to win!

'Bringing Out the Old' Again!

Surprise!

Believe it or not, I am posting just because....

Actually, I've been thinking alot lately about something
I read over on Facebook last week and decided I would
challenge myself based on the comments that were made.

The comment that was made had to do with the fact that
so many people seemed frustrated with the 'box' they
felt locked into when it comes to using the
'latest & most popular' products on the market.
The idea of using only the trendiest colors or the
best-selling collections...and many of those comments
came because, to be considered for publication
in paper-crafting magazines, you need to be able to
use products that are current.

As someone who has been in retail marketing for 30+ years,
I totally understand it.  As someone who has the privilege to
serve on design teams who expect us to use the most current
products, I get it.

We seem to all have that common 'problem'...we buy the
current best-selling products, but typically, we buy so much
(or are given so much) that we never use it up
and the next thing we know, we are considered
'hoarders' by well-meaning friends or family because we
have SO MUCH STUFF !!  LOL

Back in 2010, I started something I called
'BOO' which stood for
'Bringing Out the Old'
You can read the first time I posted about it HERE
It was a New Year's Resolution...of sorts.
Every time I accomplished it, I posted about it.

I said all this to say, that I decided it was time to get back
to challenging myself to do something I did when I first
started blogging and that was to use products that have
been in my stash, even if that means 'mixing brands' !
The idea is to have fun & create . . .
I know that is why I personally started blogging.

This collection from Simple Stories is such a fun one.
Not been in my stash all that long . . . but I've been using
it alot lately to make cards, so I'll have more to share soon.
It was such an easy card to make because all I added was the
'pearly' door know and Stardust Stickles to make my cloud all shiny.

The alpha & tiny words stickers are all a part of the same collection.

What I am happy to share is that this entire collection came from
an order from . . .

Every day, there are new deals that are out of this world !
They carry the newest collections at a MAJOR DISCOUNT
and of course, have some of your favorites in stock as well.

I hope you'll stop by and check them out.
Make sure you sign up for the newsletter as well because
they send out ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS nearly every day.

Okeedokee . . . that's it from me.

I hope you'll plan to join me on Thursday as we say
farewell to four of our designers over at
The Play Date Cafe.  It will be a very special post indeed.

Cake Wrapped in Bakers Twine

It's a busy day here at The Open Window with lots
of inspiration from a variety of places!

I am very excited to be a part of this fantastic
two-day blog hop and am so very
blessed to be a designer for both companies!

If you arrived here from the
Market Street Blog
then you are in just the right place!
If not, it's only two stops back to start at
the beginning of this amazing inspirational hop.

There are two really wonderful prizes being given away,
but you have to make your way around to each of the
designers' blogs and leave a little love to be eligible.
More on that shortly....

This is one of my favorite sets from Market Street.
It's called 'Celebrate Cake'.
I have always been fascinated with  cake decorating
and love looking through the British magazines
that specialize in sugar-crafting.
When I was in my 20's, I learned the Wilton Method
of cake decorating and once in awhile, I give it a go.
It's kinda like riding a bike!

Anyway...the beautiful designer paper is from
Simple Stories and of course,
my cake is decorated....

....with bakers twine from The Twinery.

So let's talk about the great prizes you could
win from both of these companies.

The Twinery is offering...

The Ultimate Color Sampler
{retail value $25}

and

Market Street Stamps is offering...

So spend some time with the designers
of both companies this weekend.
You'll find wonderful inspiration along the way
and have a chance to win great prizes as well!

Don't forget to share a comment before you leave!

The next stop on the hop is one that will surely inspire you!
It's the very talented
Caroline Stender
