What Do You Do When You Don't Know What To Do?

I think that question ranks right up there with "Why is the sky blue?" and the other mysteries of life. Today was one of those days when I had the whole day to myself with no appointments, no interruptions and yet, I didn't get a dang thing accomplished....well, I did get this card done, but with approximately 12 hours to do it in, I need to account for the other 11 hours and 30 minutes!

What are those days like for you? Do you find them frustrating or do you just go with the flow. I will be honest and say that I get frustrated. I think I am still getting used to the 'empty nest' syndrome, even though my kids have been on their own for quite some time. Maybe it's the fear that I will be in the middle of the best moments of creativity and one of them will show up on my doorstep with pillows and blankets and I'll never get that moment back! Maybe it's the idea that part of my income depends on being as creative as possible as often as possible, so I put undue pressure on myself.

Whatever it is, I know we all go through those times. When it happens to me, I tend to just do something....like organize my stamps or ribbon drawer. I stay in the studio though, because I know it will fuel some-thing at some point. So that's my tip for you today! If you are struggling in your creative space, do your best to find something to do IN your creative space.

Today's card is an ode to the season just around the corner. My favorite time of the year...love the colors, love the sounds and love the scents. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Mellow line. The stamp is a dollar stamp from Studio G and the miniature punched flowers by Fiskars.

Hope you will take a moment to stop by on Sunday. I plan on spending part of the day creating something to share with you, blog hopping and reading my new issue of Artful Blogging. I do hope you will come by, say hello and share with me what you have planned for your Sunday!

That is a great tip! I will remember that! Super cool card! I have been thinking about starting an etsy shop. I would love to but just really wonder if it is "worth it"! I think I am going to post that question soon so be thinking of some advice you can give me! :) ha...

Happy World Friendship Day Julie!!! :) I love your fall card using BG. That is one of my many favorite lines:) Being on call for surgery is a love hate deal for me! I hate being on call 'cause the fear of the unknown of what sort of emergency I will get called in for is worrysome BUT I love it 'cause I have a 1/2 hr response time so I am sort of forced to stay at home. MY TIME to create! :) Enjoy your day whatever you do! :) TFS Hugs, Mona

That's so funny about them showing up with their pillows and blankets. I don't think I'll ever get used to the empty nest syndrome and they've been gone for ages. If they lived locally it might be different. But I love having time to craft, and blogging and reading blogs like yours has added such a dimension to my life and motivated me in a way I couldn't have imagined.
